Spot Hogg Edge Rest
Archery Product Review
Hi, this is Reo Wilde the Honey Badger here. I wanted to cover a piece of equipment that I really love and have for a lot of years. It’s a Spot Hogg Edge Rest, I’ve used it since the day it came out. I originally started out with the Spot Hogg Infinity, but this is one that is really been something I have fallen in love with. We will open it and see what you get in it. You get the rest, and you get two different stiffness of blades, an 8000’s and a 10,000’s blade, so a guy can choose which one he likes better.
It’s really easy, it mounts right here to the arm, and it mounts really easy to the two screws right there. So that’s two screws that keep it more in line, and they are countersunk, so it will help keep the rest more similar every time you put one in. It has a slide in it now, the newer version does so a guy can do a little bit of what they call torque tuning to play with and see if that will help.
It has a set screw here, with a soft deal on it so it doesn’t mar up your riser, but will lock the rest so it doesn’t move up and down. One of the features that changed from the Infinity to the Edge that I really really like is it got a new spring adjustment, because most of the time we use our blade as something to give and move. With the Edge we went to a micro-adjust angle on the blade. You loosen a set screw on the side and it will actually click as you turn it back and forth, leaving the blade up and down to whichever angle you feel is more forgiving for you on your bow, which to me has been amazing.
It has been a very good innovation and it’s all clean and pretty simple in a small package. Another part I love is the micro-adjust left and right, and up and down. All you gotta do is put an Allen Wrench in and turn it and it moves. You do not have to have a lock. A lot of the rests you have out there that have locks actually bend the screw, so that when you go to adjust it again, it is really hard and it is not as clean and smooth.
So to me a lot of the pluses on this rest are just simple, and not a lot to go wrong with it. I have loved it since the day of its inception. It helps a lot with my group team. Another funny part is if you shoot an Axcel Site it matches up. One turn is equal to two turns on your site, so it goes right back in the same spot. I have yet to find anything that I do not love about this rest and I just wanted to share with you what it is.
They have agreed sometime this week that we are going to do a giveaway, so watch the website and our Facebook pages! We’re going to be giving away one of these great rests, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to get one. Thanks again for watching our channel!
